Exemplary food unlimited

In life we cherish good food to the tee...an interesting subject to pen down some thoughts..
The day we are born,we relish having food in various forms...mother's milk, all the packaged milk foods, water, kanji(water from boiled or steam rice) etc..
As we reach our 2nd or 3rd year,we start having solid foods in the form of garnished rice and wheat, fruits, fruit juices and the first taste of sugar and spice. We also start having those energy drinks from the 4th year onwards.

I remember being fed on "farex" and biscuits to the tee.As you age these were replaced by "complan " and bournvita.
The right mixture ofcarbohydrates ,proteins and vitamins for nourishment is vital and ingredients were aplenty those days.
The age when we start having solid food is the most noticeable and high on rememberence.
The usual food in variuos forms (breakfast ,lunch and dinner) would comprise of Idli,Dosa,Vada,Roti, poori, cornflakes ,Iddiappam,Puttu(kerala dishes),Mutta Dosa (dosa with egg garnished),rice with sambhar, gravies, mutton ,chicken, fish curries, dal sabzis, and the list is unfinished...
As we enter the teenage years, the food also becomes upmarket.Fast food and junk takes over
with all those Chats and Manchurians to satisfy our bellies. Not to forget all those cola drinks as sidekicks.

Grab those wonderful (painful) bakery items with sweets thrown in,and you have the perfect appetite, never to be relinquished.

Typical Indian hospitality also comes to the forte. The festival seasons brings about the most exotic food on display, not to forget the marriages and gruhapraveshams.Every 5th km brings about a change in cuisines, not to forget the various places and states speciality.
The beauty of this country is that ,you get the simple "tea" and coffee in its various avatars (facets)...from Rs 3/- to Rs 300/-
The lingo used to address various food items also changes from place to place..."chaya chaya" to "chay garam ,chay garam" ; "kappi" to "coffee" to "cappucino"
We have 100 varieties of different mutton and chicken menus and people experiment with these menus ,as a scientist does with his chemicals...
The varieties are mind boggling and to count the menus from Jammu to Kanyakumari, will take ages...
Perfect recipies for tourists and world alike..the influx of multinational cuisines is adding spice to the mouthwatering taste buds of our society. The drinks have become hotter (daring),food exotic and sumptuous.
The GenNext is taking to fast food off the shelf in a jiffy..and ovens (packaged foods ) have become the order of the day...gone are the days of traditional cooking..
All this with the ever changing times shows some promise at large..
